Mine has been doing something like this lately too. Drive for a while and come to a stop light. The truck hesitates for a second like its going to die but keeps running. Other times it will just be idling and it dies. I have a backup CPS just in case it is that since I have heard those are some of the symtoms. Is this what your truck is doing also? Mines a 6spd tho.

Interesting, those are my symptoms all right. It has never died when idling, just when I step on the go pedal. Then tonight, when I put it in reverse, it died completely. I think that tomorrow I will replace the CPS with my spare and see if the symptoms go away. I will report back if anything happens. Lets figure this out!! Truck can not randomly die like this, we all have work to do!!!

Powerstrokeme- I went to the dealer this morning (I have a buddy that works there)and they think that my problem is a solenoid of some kind in the tranny hanging up. It will all be covered under warranty so it will head on in after x-mas. I mentioned your symptoms and they think it will most likely be your CPS, since the 6spd rules out the tranny. Start there, since you already have a spare. I will report back with any further knowledge or info. Thanks guys

Hey thanks for the info! Its too freakin cold here to be crawling around under the truck even for 5 minutes so hopefully it will warm up soon. My service engine soon light comes on every once in a while too so I dont know if its a combo of the CPS and chip. Probably go to autozone and have them pull the codes when it does it again and Im not on a tight schedule
