any of you guys runnin a Block Heater ? Im lookin at one you glue to the oil pan and runs about 150 watts, my tanks heater works ok but draws 1800 watts and my utility bill is payin off the national Dept this month. :P
We were in the teen's for the high's last week here in MN. Now the high's are in the low 30's. Wow, heat wave. The gear lube in the Jeep trans feels like peanut butter.

The oil pan heater will only warm the oil, it won't warm the engine. I prefer the freeze plug heaters, usually about 600 watts and they will warm the entire engine, OK to leave plugged in overnight. The tank heaters will warm the engine fairly quickly since they "pump" the coolant thru the engine and are high wattage. You might try a timer or plugging in early in the AM before work, that way it will not be on so long. <--this is what the loggers around here use!!!
