Hey everyone, I just joined the Mo chapter the other day, but I've been browsing the site for almost a year now. I live in the Kansas City area. I saw a '79 F150 last spring and fell in love with it. At 10mpg, I'd still rather drive it than my '85 Blazer!
Hello from festus. I just recently picked up a old 79 f100. I had been looking for a chevy...i will not lie aboutthat, but most of them even rusted out are very exspensive. The old girl i picked up is a straight six three on the treee model. Ive drove imports most of my life and my daily cars are still a corolla and a infiniti and i have a nissan se-r as a toy. I bought the truck for errands and what not but we all know how that goes. It has rust on the bed fenderwells so i hope i can fix that or get a different bed.
I dont know what it is but foever i had looked for a import truck and it hit me i need to buy a good ole american full size truck. My dad has always owned chevy/gmc trucks so i figured i would too. Well i saw this old truck and the price was dirt. Shoot it still even has the jack and jack handle under the hood. Im not a mechanic by any stretch and i figured the straight six would be a good place to start tinkering. It seems to run ok and the colum shift is loose a bit..rightfully so after 30 years so i might convert to a floor shifter with some info on here. Hope to get to know a few of you..yes i am a talker..lol. I will be 38 in april and i knew i just had to get back to my roots of what i started driving a beat up old truck. Thanks for reading.
