Howdy folks. Pat, from O'Fallon, Mo. ( we have one in ill. too just to keep it straight ). Been here a week or 2. Found this looking for some parts interchange info. Great place. Have asked a lot of stupid newbie questions & expect to have more. Thought I signed up to join, don't know. NOT in any way, shape, or form computer literate. Power button turns it on, right? Have a '91 F150. 302, auto., reg. cab, long smooth bed ( what's left of it anyway. Typical rear fenderwells ate out. ). Has about 145,000? miles on it I guess. Was told it had a Jasper long block put in about 40,000 miles ago. Can't put pictures on computer( maybe don't know how. The phone co. { Sprint } said my phone won't. ). Currently in Tech. school , St. Charles for some work, maybe another week or two. Also have a '01 cop car ( FORD, of course ). Drive school bus for a living St. Charles / St. Peters area, Francis Howell school district.. Just saying " Howdy " to everybody. Runs good so far, may have to park the cop car & make the truck ( Old Rusty, because it is ) my daily driver. Seems to have more power. Bought it for a beater to haul stuff. Body kinda banged / rusty, interior fair. Guy wanted $1500 for it. Fit what I was looking for, reg. cab, long smooth side bed, V-8, auto., & most important, NOT a sh**rolet. Hope to try to make one of the meets or something & get to meet some folks from my area. Any computer gurus out there that can help me figure out how some of the stuff here works? PM? Private Message? Signature? Etc., etc. Please speak slowly & use small words ( one syllable or less would be great. Sometimes think &^79^^&*! computers are out to get me. They're alive I tell you!
Hello all - I'm Matt "LBF" here in Mid-MO, near Jefferson City. I have a '97 F150 that I bought new (1st and only new vehicle!) and a '65 F250 that I recently acquired locally by mistake - yes, I bid on a "cool" Ebay auction that had no reserve, and 19 minutes left to go... The '65 needs a lot of work - mainly the front suspension is toast - and I found this Forum doing some basic research. The front springs were cut long ago, and actually fell out of the truck when it was jacked up during the famous "MO Safety Inspection" (which it failed for some reason...) Now I'm really interested in the new Crown Vic subframe suspension - but lack of fabrication skills has lead me to a more traditional alternative of AIM dropped I-Beams and a matching drop in the rear. Pics of the '65 are at this link - 1965 Ford F250 - a set on Flickr
I also own about 15 other vehicles - Professional Cars built on passenger car chassis - Hearses, Ambulances, Flower Cars, and Limousines. I also own 2 Fire Engines - a '74 Ford 900 Cabover and a '71 International Fleetstar 2000D. Pics of most of those vehicles are also on my Flickr page.
I do not think we would meet till like 11:00, like last time depends on what time the chapter leader picks?
Hope it works out for you to go, usually great eats and lots of Ford truck time.
Just re-read & figured out it's on Sun. . Was thinking it was Sat. If I remember right Lake of the Ozarks is about 4 hours from here ( okay maybe 3 ½, used to driving it in a slow school bus ). Get out of church around noon - 12:30. Get there around 4, turn around & come back? Not much time to say howdy. Can at least drop the bag of Rrrruffles Have RrrrIdges® for Gray Ghost. Still hoping to make it even if Old Rusty can't.
