Computer e-mail is not working Why?

Hey guys my e-mail is not working as off late. Im on dialup an when I click on my e-mail to see new messages it knocks me off line an I have to reboot my computer. If i disregard my e-mail Im fine. I can stay online no problem. But e-mail knocks me off. I will call tech support but before I do I thought would ask you guys. Thanks for the help.

Could be it's not recognizing your password. Check with your ISP provider- I had that issue a few years ago.

do you use outlook express for email?

there is an option in that program to "hang up after sending and recieving" at the isp, we'd get that complaint all the time

"Mail2Web" to see what you have online. It is an online email service to view what you have. Just use your name and password as used with your provider.

My server tech told me about this alternative when I hit by a thirdparty "zombie" attack three years ago. It was a virus infection that caused literally hundreds of emails at one time to anyone one through the original computer's addressbook. The receipent was not infected through this...fortunately. But it played lively hell with your getting anything through Outlook email until the owner disinfected themselves and set up their security better.
