I have a 67 F250 CS. It has front disc brakes and rear drums. I need to replace the front brakes, dont know if calipers are bad or not. Problem is...I look on Checker Auto and NAPA for new brake pads and it shows that my truck does not have front disc brakes. I seriously doubt any previous owner changed out the entire front brake system. HELP. I need to find what pads to use, rotor wear, etc.
If you can clean the caliper off and check for casting marks, that'll give you an idea of what they are from. If they are quite large and stamped "Dayton", they are original. These calipers don't fit behind a standard 16" wheel from what I have heard, you have to run the Ford 16.5".
If the fit inside a standard 16" rim, clean off the caliper until you find a Ford part number. It will be something like "D3Txx", D= 70's, 3 is the specific year, so that would be a 73 part number.
