Front Disc Brake Pads

I need to change my disc brake pads. LMC has pads for "factory" disc set up and "conversion kit". Is there a difference between the two brake pad sets? Are they different? And how would I distinguish the brake set "factory" from "conversion kit"?

Since 1972 F100's did not come with disc brakes, what are the discs on your truck from?

The joy of using 73-79 Ford axle upgrades is that your pads will be available from most every local parts counter.

Does your truck have Ford parts for the upgrade?

Not sure which discs these are...came with the truck. But you guys are right, did not notice that its only the F250 in our year range that had front discs. I took some images of the brakes and here they are. The driver side caliper has something like "0733" and passenger has "058" numbers stamped on.

HOLY GUACAMOLE!

Master Power Disc Brake Kit Install - Tech Articles - Classic Trucks Magazine

I was searching the web for this info and came across this article which has MY TRUCK in it. How helpful is that? I bought this truck in Orange County, CA two years ago and it had everything identical to whats on the photos in the article...even the 15" Kragars. Looking at the engine bay everything is identical as well...down to valve covers, dealer AC, wiring, everything! Even the marker writing (1345L) and its location on the caliper in the article photo matches to whats on my truck.

So that answers my question as to what type of brakes I have. Now I need to find out what type of brake pads I need to get.

It appears all you need is brake pads from a 73-79 F100/150 4X2. Good luck.

1968/72 F250 2WD & F350: Drum brakes were standard equipment, disc brakes were optional.

1973: Disc brakes were standard equipment on F250 2WD's and F350's. Not available on F250 (and F100/150) 4WD's until 1976.

None of those numbers you pictured/listed are Ford related, they are manufacturer related numbers. Since FoMoCo bought their brake parts from an outside supplier...

Look on the right spindle for stamped Ford ID engineering numbers: D3TA-3107-CD or DD or D5TA-3107-FA

Look on the left spindle for stamped Ford ID engineering numbers: D3TA-3108-CD or DD or D5TA-3108-FA

There may be a variation of the D5TA's suffixes.

There may be ID numbers stamped on the I-Beams, will include 3008 on the R/S, 3009 on the L/S.

What brake parts does Blue Oval (in Anaheim-I was there a coupla weeks ago) use for their conversion? If from a 1973/79 F100 2WD, 1975/79 F150 2WD, the spindles will be so marked.

I contacted Master Power Brakes directly and ordered pads from them for the kit installed in the article. They weren't able to get me the #'s but confirmed that the brakes are for the later 70's F100. I'll post the numbers once the brake pads arrive, so that you guys don't have to lose sleep over it
