I have a 76 f250 4x4 with 360. I am wondering if I pick up a 390 automatic, can I use the flywheel from the 360? Are the flywheels the same? Or , how can I tell them apart if I need to find A 390 manual trans flywheel? Will I run into any other fit problems trying to drop the 390 in place of the 360?
Jerry, It should exchange just fine. St. drive flywheels and auto flexplates are different and can not be used in place of. If your truck is manual swapping a 360/390 should be pretty straight forward.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
Thank you John, just trying to cover the bases before I actually do the swap. One junk yard said they have one from a 390 that needs a ring gear for $35,one has one complete for $65 and another said I could use a 360 manual trans flywheel. These were northern Michigan yards, the local ones near me didn't have any . Jerry
