flywheel hunting.....

Can anyone give me the scoop on 460 manual trans. flywheels!! I heard that the 360/390 flywheel will work but I`m having a hard time accepting that being a totally different engine family. Some guys said they`ve used them and had there engines balanced. Isn`t there an easier way? Are`nt there any bolt ons? I put a 460 out of a 69 Lincoln into a 77 4x4 that had a 300-6 in it and used a flywheel out of an early 70`s Mach 1 With a 429 4-spd. but these are getting real rare. HELP!

had problems myself ichanged 84 f250 4x4 4sp
from a diesle depends on year of engine and size of clutch fe family will not work neither 351m/400 will work 351m/400 will fit but balancing is the issue

I am running two engines right now that have 360 flywheels on them.One is a 69 429 the other is a 73 460,neither engine was balanced and have been running for a long time with no problems or vibration.As long as you have a 78 or earlyer crank in your engine it will work. I would recomend a 390 flywheel because they have a bigger clutch than a 360 ,but a 360 does work.
