I like to come the general forum and flip through most topics. Read about what goes on and how some views differ in other parts of the country. Getting to know some members and users through their posts. There are a few that I like to hear what they have to say because I've become familiar with their posts. Some posts to me are thought provoking, some stir emotions, and an occasional few that one might consider to be psychobable. Sometimes it's down right funny, always interesting. Reading through some of the more serious topics about politics, religion, guns, etc., I've learned quite a bit. Some topics I shy away from and some I just like to jump in. There are a few who like to stir the pot and that's good, it brings things up from the bottom. Some will add more stuff to it and someone else might argue the opposite. Others might add a little spice and a nice slow simmer. If it gives you heartburn you might want to just have a little or none at all. Someone else might turn up the heat to a rolling boil and it boils over into a big mess. But together we sometimes come up with a great recipe. Some might not like it but you don't have to eat it or add something you do like. Others dig it and enjoy every bite. Variety is the spice of life. Who wants to eat the same old meat and potatos every day?:-)
There aren't too many people that can get me to change my mind, but I have to admit these posts have done it this time. The last one in particular really sums it up. I guess it's like television: if you don't like what you see, turn it off. When I fiRst made this post I was a little new to the site; guess I really didn't understand what this forum was really all about. I guess everything doesn't have to relate to trucks, now does it? So hang in there folks, there's hope for me yet. Keep it up and you just might turn me into a CONSERVATIVE! Naah, that wouldn't be any fun- who would you have left to pick on?
truckertaz, I agree with you, I just never knew what to call it. Personal responsibility...that has a good ring to it. Thanks for that. I really honestly think that people are just too upset over what everyone else is doing. It's kind of a "mind your own biz and get outta mine" if you have a problem with what I'm doing. I didn't even know the GC existed until I got really really bored one day. I had the 73-79 bookmarked and that's the only place I ever went. I know what I was missing now and I appreciate the fact that good natured anything can be discussed.
Thanx!

I really don't try to stir Da Pot , rather I guess i use strong words because I happen to believe in the ideas that I'm investing my thought and time in.......My posting(s) probably sound more like Rant's and maybe they are, but it is my opinion that we soft peddle idea's and concepts that need to be "shouted from the rooftops" like Honesty in government......I realize I should be more Diplomatic , but when you believe with intensity you should convey that in the threads as well.......I tend to respond fairly quickly when I read a thread then "needs attention" and so i probably am alittle hasty with my conceptual formulation......I , really , donot want to Offend anybody hereabouts, but I'm sure that i have at different times, so if I upset you I'm sorry for that....Maybe some of the opinions that i have expressed have made people "Think" and look at a situation differently and understand it better, or so I would hope , Merry Christmas , fd
A lot of the people here, me included benefit from the kind of stimulating discussions we have here. And, it's like hanging out with friends. My friends aren't here at 2 and 3am, so I go to this site. If you are sitting there talking with a buddy, and he wants to talk about something you don't like, it's really rude to say, don't talk about that with me. You have other friends you can talk to. I consider all the people here to be friends, and will join in whatever conversation is going on, especially one about religion.
