[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-Nov-02 AT 06:49 PM (EST)]For all the people that have Microsoft Word installed on their computer, you have a built in spell checker that can be turned on for use with this conference and all others.
Here is the link with the instructions;

Now, write your reply, highlight the section you wrote or want checked and click on the newly added spellcheck button right next to the work links in your Internet Explorer.
Y du wee nead a spelle cheker 4 ower fourums? I kan spelle jest fihn. That post wuz an ensult two mi intelujence. Mabe sum uf u kant spelle, but I shore kan! I'm not stoopid!
Man, I'm bored. I guess I'll do just about anything to avoid raking the leaves in my yard.
Thanks for the tip about the spell check!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Dec-02 AT 03:05 PM (EST)]Neat idea!
But I'm a bit lost on something... I saved it using Notepad, saved it to my Temp folder as /temp/spellcheck.js , and when replying to this thread tried it, but got an error.
OOps! I just tried highlighting the text first (I reread your post)... it works!
Guess I'll have to give it some time to get used to using it. I do cut and paste to MS word, but this has to be easier - just got to get that Button to be easier to find up with the rest of the IE buttons.
Anyone know how to create/change it to be a main button?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Dec-02 AT 04:00 PM (EST)]Ranger: I have some mixed feelings about spell checkers. I have used them in the past for business and when writing long pieces that require it at the end of the composition. So, I guess there is a time and place for it.
However, I am from the old school, before the computer, when the spell checker was the dictionary. It actually teaches spelling rather than merely correcting it. There is something to be said for the difference.:-)
So, on short posts such as in this forum, I find the dictionary is still the better tool because it teaches as well as corrects.:-X12
