Tag is on a longbed 60's 4X4 V8 parts truck I just bought.
Found this forum while looking for axle info. Making a 'mudder' truck out of a Chevy S10 but need 'extra beef' so will be using the Dana 60 rear out of the Ford because of the narrow width.
Also cannibalizing the closed knuckle front Dana 44 for the matching 4:56 gears to put in a disc brake Jeep Wagoneer housing with Dodge 3/4 ton outers.
Using a 205 divorced t-case out of a 70's Ford 3/4 ton.
Lots of my Chevy friends are flaming me...... so feel free...

In 1968 the F was an 4 -Speed Warner T-18 and B was an 10-Speed Fuller R-96 Direct. But there was not a FB code.
axle: 24 (4?? messed up a little) 24 = Dana #60 4.10:1 - 5,200 lb
Far as I know "C" for 1960 = 292, 2V, 135HP
Truck was built Dec. '60 according to the consecutive #
Which would classify it as a 61. And by my 61 book, the f262 is rated at 6,600 gvw - which matches your tag. 292 2v MD - has two wing nuts in centers of valve covers, dizzy in the back, and a crossover pipe across the front connecting the manifolds.
Trans - F is a T-98A Warner 4-sp - 1st is a granny gear. B might be the front axle code b=4.55 ? 24 Rear Axle code = 4.56 ratio.
Nobody ever said what block type (family) this 330 engine falls in. I would like to know myself. I can't find any reference to one in my V.I.N. decoder.

The 330 is usually the "Medium Duty" FT engine, a relative of the FE found a lot in larger trucks or things like a U-Haul.
