I keep seeing people specifying the codes they have lifted off their vehicle, and many know what they refer to. Where can I find a list of codes and their descriptions?
one method is to just try googling them, you might have to combine the code number with OBDII. Another sure methos is to subscribe to alldatadiy.com for your vehicle. Autozone will give you a discount to the site if you buy online from them.
The best code lists will come from a repair manual specific to your year/make/model (especially when it comes to EEC-IV/OBD-1 codes which aren't as standardized as OBD-2/EEC-V). Alternatively, more generalized code lists in DIY manuals or on the internet are a decent alternative, though they will be more prone to errors. FYI EEC-IV/OBD-1 applies to '91-'95 Explorers (there are a few '95 OBD-2 Explorers). EEC-V/OBD-2 applies to '96+.
Kay - try changing out your plugs and wires if not already tried. I got this code and even though my wires Ohm'ed out OK, after 165K miles on them I thought it was time for a change. Code went away and the low speed miss went away too!
