SGII will check codes. With it plugged in, turn it on with key on engine off, and hit the SCAN button. It should reveal if any codes are present on the next screen.

Scangauge is hit or miss on displaying some trouble codes. Here is a x-Gauge code for DTC count. If it shows three (for example) and you only get one code with the scan button you know you have two more "lurking" in there and may need a better scanner to retrieve it. Most of the parts stores will scan for free, depending on which model of scanner they have on hand it may pull any remaining codes.

DTC Count (Diagnostic Trouble Code Count)

TXD: 07E0220200

RXF: 046205020600

RXD: 3008

MTH: 000100010000

NAM: DTC
