Gtex, I never do remember that heat=light..... I always wind up burning the **** out of my fingers.
Well, I'll confess I've grabbed a hot bulb a few times thinking I could get away with it. But, at least with that there is a conscious decision to risk it. The darn hood latch always comes back as a surprise, like it just showed up!
After 20+ yrs of owning these trucks.........I've become pretty immune from hitting my head on that freak'n latch assembly!!! Just so used to ducking down to the side to remove myself from under the hood that it's second nature. BUT, on a bad day I'm sure I'll do it again.
My favorite is catching my sleeve on the hood springs after reaching down into bay. Never fails when I try to step away, my sleeve has wrapped itself around the end of spring and WON'T let go!!!!!! A few well spoken words and a couple twists of the shirt/coat usually takes care of it LOL!!! Until 2 seconds later when I do it again
I know what you are saying Gtex. Think enough times and it would become second nature, but then that one time when you are so deep into some kind of thinking aobut either the motor, booze or woman and you come up for a thought and SMACK, and soon to follow the words that the Ol' Man and the Military life has taught me.. It can be quite the show....
