Where to start?

I want to rebuild my 77 F150 4x4 shortbox with 351M and 4spd and tired 33 inch tires. My questions is; Where do I start? The truck is not my daily driver so it can sit for a while, but the truck has many problems.
the list: the motor runs fine, but there is a ticking noise in the heads (motor has 151,000 miles on it), the transfer case has an oil leak out the rear drive shaft (seal and lots of play), needs new radiator and temp sensor, rear axel leaks around the third member and a lot of play in there also, the wheels and tires are old and tired, and the body has some pretty good rust in the cab and bed.
I want the truck to be cherry someday, with nice drivetrain, limited slip rear end, 33" tires, and a lift kit. The Body work will have to wait until I can find a place to weld or replace. I just don't know where to start. Any ideas from other rebuilders? I love the truck and won't get a new one (my girlfriends idea).
thanks in advance.

Well, the Trans & Rear pinion seals wouldn't be that tough or take very long or cost very much to do.

The rad can be replaced/rebuilt.
The sending unit is really easy and inexpensive.

And regarding the engine, that would be dependant on the findings of a thorough examination.

Here is an engine option to peruse.
