New Motor
Ok so the old girl has begun to act up, she has a 360 with only 57k on it and that block is precious to me as this truck has been in my family since new. My soulution is crate motor. However, i need some ideas and advice. I want an era correct 390 that will bolt right in and i want it to make power! How much is reasonable to get out of this motor? and how much is reasonable to be handled by a stock c6, np205 tcase, d44hd front d60 rear spinning 33" tires. i don't know the gearing, stock? is 350 hp too high to expect because 350-400 is ideal for me... thanks in advance. oh and do you know of any place where i can get an fe 390 crate engine?

I know the c6 and 205 are more than up for that power. The D60 rear should be fine with only 33's as well as the 44 front although they are not bullet proof and could break something if you got too crazy with that kind of horse power.

i thought about changing out this motor with new parts but as it sits now is the way my grandpa left it and he died when i was 2 years old so i don't want to mess with it, and i don't want to crazy mod the rest of it either so bolt in crate motor was my idea. That is good to hear that in stock form the rest of the driveline can take the abuse.
