Steering Issue!

Bascially i am having a lot of play with my steering. I have changed ball joints and jacked up truck and shook the tires and have no movement. Also i changed the steering shock as well. i then got the alignment done which helped but truck still has some play in steering. I am out of ideas of what to change next! thanks for the help!

Have you tried the adjustment screw on top of the stearing box? On my '02 It's an allen head bolt with a jam nut.

If you do adjust the box, do it an 1/8 turn at a shot. I cleaned up the area, shot it out in white spray paint and indexed it with a sharpie.

Mark the original position with a punch so you don't loose your mind trying to back it out to today if it isn't the cause.

If it does work. Log the date and mileage and keep it safe.

If you have to revisit it to make more improvements. It's a wealth of knowledge and reflection.

Denny (1/4 turn down made my super a vette comparatively)

Denny is spot on.
As an added measure after every adjustment start the truck and turn the wheels full sweep then back to center and see how it feels.
About a ½ turn tightened my steering up.

You didn't go red head steering box? Also the coupler on the shaft, is it tight?
