Starting Problem w/V10

I have a 2000 with the V-10 and about 70K miles. Recently I have experienced a very sluggish start, but only after a hard highway run. At least twice, it would not start at all. It acted like a dead battery. The Ex had the original battery, so I replaced it, but the problem persists. It starts and runs fine when cold. Any ideas?

This is just a guess since I haven't experienced this problem ...
Tired ol' starter motor is getting sluggish after absorbing a lot of heat?

Something is not being able to withstand the under-hood temperatures anymore. Finding that item can be a pain. Any other ideas from the forum?

Oh, and WELCOME to the forum!

Well if I'm reading right...

~ The starter turns slow ("very sluggish start") after the truck is warmed up.

~ Twice it wouldn't start... "similar to a dead battery": (I'm assuming a slow crank situation.)

~ Battery didn't solve the problem.

~ Starts fine when cold.

My guess: get a new starter.

Yeah, my guess would be the starter, but since I hadn't heard of a similar problem anywhere else, I thought I'd pose the question. Thanks for the suggestions.

Now there is an idea. LOL. But the question is, can I use the same starter and (my new) battery?
