My f150 has a 5.8fefi and i put headers and new plugs and wires on it and new cap and rotor and when it get up around the operating tempature it stalls when you let it drop under around 1500 rmps can any one help with my probelm
We need to know what year your truck is at least. Did it run like this before you put these mods on it? A little more info is always helpful. I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and say since you replaced manifolds with headers, that somethin is screwed up with the O2 sensor.
Reason I say this is because once the truck warms up to "normal" temp, the computer goes into closed loop, which is when all the sensors kick in and monitor whats going on at various points of your engine. If your O2 sensor is messed up, it will cause a problem.
i was reading and i think because of my headers my egr valve was not getting any gases and i unpluged it. sorry about the lack of info i new to this stuff the truck is an 89 with a 5.8 efi and an auto. i never drove the truck engough because to drive it i had to get it saftied and the manifold where beoke so i got headers this was during the winter and the truck never got warm and it still take a long time to get warm so i can drive for around 30 min before it plays up
