5.8L Stalling

I have a 92 F250 with the 5.8L and 4 speed auto. I'll start it up fine and drive it a couple minutes and have to stop at a light or whatever. Press on the brakes and then when I let off the brakes and press the accelerator, the RPM will drop, sputter down (think of a tractor when adjusting throttle), and stall. It takes forever to start back up, because it acts like there is no battery charge.

At first I thought it was gas level, but that's been ruled out. So I'm at a loss.

If anyone could let me know what's wrong and all the details of the repair/cost, I'd be so grateful. I need this truck for work and helping around school and home. It's basically my paycheck. Thanks in advance.

You really need to pull diagnostic codes: Fuel Injection Technical Library » How To Run a Self-Test

If that method is too confusing for you, a code reader is about $30 and well worth the investment in my opinion.

My initial suspects are the IAC valve and TPS (one or the other or both). You can find information on testing them here: Fuel Injection Technical Library

But you'll still want to get those diagnostic codes- they're always useful.
