Mine close super easily too. It drives me nuts when someone who drives some other brand gets in and then slams the door like a Bengal tiger was trying to eat him.

I don't have to lock my 71 with the key. Push the **** down, close the door, and it's locked. My doors also seat very nicely, but the passenger side gets stuck when it's wide open sometimes. It takes a lot of pressure to get it started, then it clicks into place. I haven't had a chance to investigate yet.
I push my handle down and shut my 67s doors and they lock. Good thing the master cylinder hold down clip will open the wing window with out scratching the paint
