Is my transmission problem electrical?
I have posted my trasmission problem before and have gotten great info. Now Im asking again. Im having a intermittint hard shift from 2 to 3 on my 98 F150 5.4l with 120k miles . The first tranny guy said worn out rebuild or sell. Driving today there were periods when the the shift was normal and others not so Went for 2nd opinion today he belives that the broblem is with electric solinoid or electrical connection to it or other sensors like rpm. ,He said oil can leak into connection and cause bad connection not sure where but internal I belive. Said that at most a $500 repair Is there any thing I can check, should I go to dealer. Also he said driving it will do liitle harm. Any help appreciated. (ps I have had no flashing OD light .)
