how would yall recomend taking the tailgat off of a bronco when the glass is stuck up? i need to retriev it so i can put it on my new bronco and it is stuck up
Gotta get power to the window motor or unbolt the mechanism. The ends of the lift arms on the regulator will pop out of the metal brackets that actually hold the bottom edge of the window... they are ball-and-socket connectors. You will end up having to work from inside the truck with the inspection cover removed from the interior side of the gate. Take care when releasing the regulator arms as the window is heavy and once free has the potential to drop to the bottom of the tailgate hard enough to shatter it.

I just did this..... Remove the 4 nuts on the two window tracks and remove the window from the track studs on both sides. (Like Greystreak said carefully lower the glass) Then inside the door below the lock assembly is a rod that is near the bottom inside of the door. Push it down and lift the handle. The door will open. NO DAMAGE!!
RanchRodsTX, this will work IF the rear glass has been replaced or the factory rivets holding the glass in place have been swapped out for nuts and bolts. Thats why I suggested popping the ball-and-socket joints apart.
Greystreak, I think we are talking about two different places. The lower metal glass retainer is rivited to the glass. The slide track is bolted to the lower metal glass retainer. At least that is how it is on my '94.
