brakes

I hear you. Almost makes me want to go into bussinnes my self.
I been thinking about it lately. Geting tired of dealing with upper
management. I like taking my time at a job and getting it done
right without other people telling me how to do it.

I'm saying it's not needed at all. alot of side jobs i do on brakes i take the pads to the ground and do figure eights with them which breaks then in pretty good before putting them on. I did 200 side jobs last year on brakes and not one came back. People paid 100 bucks i did them out of my home and i always bought the wagner thermoquiet brake pads ( about 60 bucks) and never once did i turn a rotor. Sure i had to replace some rotors cause of those people that brake until it just starts grinding then want a brake job but other than that no rotors were removed or turned. at the job on the other hand it's part of the package so i turn the rotors. most make turning rotos part of it so that they can say it's beyond the wear point and they need new rotors.

I'm sorry about loosing my cool too. BUT, can you see his rotors through the forums? Can you see how bad they are? because I can't. I just think it would be better to give reasons for your opinion. Rather than just saying you don't need to, when you don't even know if the rotor is badly pitted, cracked or warped in the first place. In my opinion your post was idiotic in that respect.

Getting it all done properly would be better than halfassing something that could and probably will save your life.

The ase certification is just a confedence booster in my book, and it seems to have worked on your overconfident behind. I'm sorry, but I just feel that this should be said to you before you get someone killed because you halfassed their brakes.

getting someone killed for not turning a rotor?? please stfu

sorry buddy is the rotor is cracked or warped sure I'll replace/turn it that's what dial indicators are for you wad. i mean since you're thinking not turning a rotor will get someone killed why not just throw new rotors on every time time then you genius you.

My god you are dense aren't you... I'm glad I'm ase certified and do all of my own repairs rather than having to take it to someone like you. One question though, Why specialize on brakes? I mean it's the simplest system on the car, minus the EBTCM.

I'm currently in college to be an engineer, so you'll soon be working on cars I designed, and I now see why engineers sometimes make cars a PITA to fix. Have fun.

LOL i graduated from university of houston with a degree in mechanical engineering. i got that education to make performance parts for motorcycles as I'm only interested in making race parts for race bikes and working for myself and not for someone else. I race motorcycles in cmra here in texas.

Alright, you win. Is that what you want to hear?
These forums are of no use to me anyways now. I asked my question, and got no responses, so I'm gone.
