Tranny making tapping or nocking sounds

Vacuum is about 24mmHg at idle
Fuel pressure running is about 32psi for v8's and 55psi for the straight 6.
Pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator and it should jump about 10 psi. There shouldn't be any gas in the vacuum line or theport on the regulator, if there is replace the regulator. Recoonect the vacuun line and it should return to normal. Now shut off the engine. Pressure should hold withing 5psi for 30 seconds. if it doesn't then you have a leak somewhere, maybe a leaky injector or bad checkvalve.
