I brushed the snow off and started my truck this morning and it made a missing almost nocking sound. Is this the romps? It never died and cleared out in a few seconds.
Cold morning start. what is the temp? if you are not used to it you will think that something is totally wrong, was it plugged in?
I have started mine plugged in at -35c and it sounds like it is running on One cylinder till it clears out then it runs fine diesels do not start good cold
It's called a fuel knock & It's because the one missing cylinder is starting to load up on unburned fuel till it gets warm enough to fire normaly. probably a dead glow plug.

yes it prob is a glow plug ,but if it is cold enough it won't matter if the glow plugs are working or not it will still do it

Block heater needs 3 hours to be affective (per manual). I have brand new GPs and a Stancor GPR (way better than stock) New batteries, batt cables and starter. If it 10* or colder and I don't plug it in, mine will still have a fuel knock. I know all the GPs are good, just cold enough that it does it. If i have it plugged in on my outdoor timer, for 3 hours no Knock. But yes that is normal for really cold. May have a dead GP or 2 also if haven't been changed in a while.
