I put an ooga horn on my Ranger yesterday, that sucker is really loud. I decided to keep the stock horn, so I ran the horn button through a toggle switch to select stock or oooga .... the grandkids love it. Question: When I was looking for a place to put my switch, I noticed a small white indicator light to the right of the instrument dimmer switch and below the tach. I have never seen it light and could not find it in my owners manual. I'm sure someone here knows what it is.

You don't mention a year and it's not in your sig. It could I assume be one of those flashing lights for an alarm (so everyone can see you have an alarm). If it never lights up and you don't have an alarm, I see no reason not to remove it and place your switch there. Another option would be under the dash where it's outta sight.
What's the link for that horn? I am interested. Thanks.

Does the indicator light look like an LED? If so, I agree with RangerPilot that it is probably for an alarm (some Fords use it with the PATS system, too).
Oooga horn is a cool idea, I'll have to suggest the idea to my friend, who is a Model A enthusiast.

Ooops, forgot to mention my truck is an '04 Edge. I bought the horn on Ebay from a seller named Bluecoupe for a $15.51 bid, total with shipping $23.51. I put the switch about 3" to the right of the mystery indicator (who knows, it may light up one day).

i was thinking about getting one of those ocean-liner sounding horns or the freight-train. they have them at jc whitney. i was wondering how difficult it is to install?
So do you lose the function of the regular horn? Is the ooga street-legal (does it even matter for horns)? I mean my '94's stock one is a little...weak...

The toggle switch (single throw/double pole) lets me choose either the stock or oooga horn and uses the stock horn button. No legal problems to my knowledge.

Coolio ok I'll check it out and pick myself one up. I always thought my mom's Chevy Silverado horn sounded weak, but I got my Ranger and...wow it's almost shameful.
Thanks!
