Question about Torque Converter

Upon heavy acceleration the tach goes to 3000 and stays there. Feels like the truck has lost power.

Is there a Torque Coverter Solenoid that engages and disengages?
My experience with TCC switches puts the location of the switchin the fluid pan off of the valve body. Is this the case with the Ford Tranny's?

It seems to me that the torque converter is not locking at all. Anyone had this happen before?

The other issue is that the TC is crapping out on me. She does not have the get up and go that she used to.

Thanks in advance.

How far along is our T/C, maybe that it just doesn't have any clutch area anymore to lock up on. I talked to a local shop and they quoted me 1100 to put in a new triple disc with a few other small mods to help keep it cool. That was before I did the shift kit and cooler. Made a huge difference, I will still have to change the T/C before too long, but it is running a lot stronger with the kit that what it did.
