I am about to swap my current 351M with a 460. I have been told that I will need a different TC because the crank pilot is a different size.
Can anyone tell me if this is true or not.

I don't think they are different. FE engines (352/360/390/428) use a much bigger pilot size than 302/351/351M400/460. Art

 

Very early 460 cranks used the smaller pilot in the crank. I had mine machined out to use the bigger pilot (69 Lincoln crank). Im not sure what year they changed so measure yours to be sure.
