Matterhorn Boots

Just curious to see if there are any other fellow Matterhorn and/or Corcoran (or anything made by Cove, actually) wearers out there...

My new pair came today, 5th pair I have owned (Here a link to the ones I just bought ). I still have all 4 other pairs and all are in almost new condition- after a true beating. If there ever was a tank designed for your foot, this is it

Those look interesting. I may have to look them up next time I need some HD footwear.

They are great for shop work, because the steel toe goes about 1/3 the way up the tongue, made of flexible steel plating.

I have some steel toe boots I wear around heavy equipment etc but they are very heavy! The day a 30,000# capacity forklift carrying a 28,000# pipe ran over and STOPPED with the load wheels on top of my foot I was glad I did not have steel toe boots. If I had been wearing them the steel insert probably would have cut off my lower foot. As it was I ended up with black and blue toes and no broken bones. I was very lucky.

These certainly won't help the "heavy" problem, these new ones are probably the heaveiest pair I have ever owned. Good thing about the steel toe in these is is that there is actually about and 3/4 of an inch of solid steel block on the toe, followed by the cap and metatarsal guard. Unless its way up on your foot, it couldn't crush it. But the weight of these is gonna take some getting used to, I'd say they are about 3.5-4 lbs per boot

I had a pair of these http://www.coveshoe.com/ItemDisplay....&CategoryID=48 that lasted for years. They wouldn't even stand up straight anymore. They were thrown out when I wasn't there to save them.

Those were the first ones I ever owned

I will buy these boots until they quit making them.

I have a pair of steel-toe Matterhorn's that the Air Force issued me. Not sure what model they are (probably a special G.I. model) but I won't even think of wearing them until the temperature is waaaaay below freezing. They are too warm otherwise.

The other thing about them is the sizes are weird - I normally wear a 9, my Matterhorn's are a 3 or something.

I use those boots underground or in any situation where metatarsals are required. I stand by redwing as well.

never heard of Matterhorn's before, sounds is if they may be okay
boots. But i myself prefer Whites (smoke jumpers) have a pair and when working on the railroad they where excellent and very
durable. Also have a pair of Whites packers very comfortable but
that can be expected there hand made to order from there Home
in Spokane Wa. Custom fitted for you and not cookie cutter type
like the rest one that comes to mind Redwing. If anyone is interested www.whitesboots.com (something like that)
