Outside Mirrors do not tilt downward
I just purchased an 04 Navigator and the outside mirrors do not tilt down after shifting into reverse. I cannot find this feature in the owners manual but it is mentioned in the 04 Navigator brochure. My 03 Expedition had the auto tilt function and it was mentioned in the owners manual as well. Should my Navigator mirrors be auto tilting or not?

At some point during the '04 production year, Ford deleted the reverse-tilt function for the exterior mirrors because of problems. My mother's '04 Navigator has this feature and it works flawlessly, as do the mirrors on my '03 Eddie Bauer Expy; I really love the feature and couldn't see myself without it. So in saying that, you may have a later built Navigator that no longer has the reverse-tilt feature.

My Navigator has a build date of 05/04 so it looks like mine does not have the reverse-tilt mirrors. Too bad though because I had no problems with them in my 03 Expedition. Thanks for clearing this up.
