Help - my mirrors have fallen and they can't get up!!....
I had to get replacements at AutoZone and they almost look like original...you can see them at *http://www.beedzncomputers.com/truck/truck.html*

Good luck,

Correct me if I'm wrong (my memory fades). I used to have this same problem on my 77 and it was fixed by taking out the glass and some of the screws that hold the plate over the pivot ball had to be tightened.

My "rememberer" must be failing the same way As I have fixed some that way, depends on the style of mirror.

If I take them apart I usually put a little copper anti-seize on the pivot. It makes them work smoother so they adjust easier without the release-jerk but it still is not so slippery that it droops.

Thanks for using FTE!

See...now I remember why I took it apart. I also put anti-seize on the pivot ball. Wow, my memory is shot.

Dave,
You'll find that the older you get the more things start to sag. Eventually, you won't even be able to get the doors closed.

if you bend ythe mirrors all the way towards the back of the truck, you will notice 2 screws on the bottom, tighten each of them and problem solved
