I used a Rancho 4" Suspension lift on my 2005 F-250 SD Crew Cab PSD. I used their RS9000 shocks and currently have set to 4 in front and 3 in rear. I put on BFG AT's 315/70R17's with American Racing Mojave polished wheels (17x8, 0 offset, 4.5" backspace). I had it installed for me. My gear ratio is 3.73 and I haven't changed it. No real noticable difference in acceleration. Fuel mileage went down about 1.5 MPG on average. No tire rubbing whatsoever. Tires do stick outside of wheel well 1-1.5". May put on fender flares to eliminate spray onto side of truck. Love the ride - better than stock. And really love the look - especially the red Rancho components. The height is perfect for what I use the truck for (occasional off roading and hunting) and the tires fill the wheel well nicely (not too big or small looking).
Hello all, my first post. I've had the 3.5" Fabtech hanger kit for about 4 years but just ordered a 6" Superlift w/rear blocks, can't wait to install it, hope I made the right decision, researching the lift was consuming me and my wife could not take it any more, my decision was largely based on the posts of you good people, thanks and i'll post some pics once the lift is complete
6" fabtech with a 2 1/2" leveling kit added on total 8 1/2" front stacked blocks in the rear fabtech basic kit.
18x10 Mickey Thompson Classic Lock wheels 325/65/18 (33x13.50x18) MickeyThompson ATZ's.
Self installed!
Didn't have to trim fenders when even when I had the 6" Lift
I'm currently trying to install a 4" skyjacker suspension lift with skyjacker shocks. I have a 2000 Excursion. I'm not sure what gears I have, but I have a RC27 code on my door. I assume it is for 3.73, but can someone help decifer this code for me? I also have 18 inch Mazzi wheels and want to put new tires on. I don't know what size my gears can support, but I'd like a 35 or 37 inch tire. I'd appreciate any help with the decoding and tire sizing. I've seen the tire size formula, but don't know what gears I currently have.

it is ona tag under a bolt holding the rear differential cover on. it should read 3.73L or L3.73 if it's limited grip.
6" pro comp
Rear add a leaf and 1.5" block
pro comp shocks
Stock steering stabilizer
Pro Comp extreme all terrains 37"x13.50"x18"
Ford factory 18"
installed by RPD Welding and Fabricating
Rides same as stock. pro comp makes a great kit.

35's will do plus on a 4" lift you'll run into rubbing issues with 37's. The 35's would look real nice on your rig.3.73 gears will do just fine if your tires are not that wide. 13.50 max after that, bigger gears.

Aloha,
Aaron
what does the width of the tire have to do with the gearing? the overall diameter is what matters with gearing. i am assuming that you are thinking the increased rolling resistance of the wider tires calls for steeper gears?
