my 1997 f150 caught on fire. it was the cruise control switch and i caught it in time so the only thing that burnt was the master cylinder. i bought a new one from a junk yard and put it in. i left the cruise control switch disconnected so that i would not have't worry about it again ( i don't ever use the CC so it's no loss ), but my ABS light has started blinking. it blinks 15 times then solid over and over. i replaced the pads and made sure the fluid is topped off. is it because the CC switch is not connected? thanks in advance

It has to be something else. I have mine unplugged and no issues. Make sure all of your wiring is still good. Even heat can cause the copper inside the insulation to become brittle then break. Also check to be 100% certain there is no air in the lines. After that, start looking at replacing your sensors. The short that caused the fire could of fried the abs sensor. There should be one on each differential front and rear if you have 4 wheel ABS. If not then just the set you do have ABS. Also check the fuse panel under the hood to make sure your fuses are all good as well as under the dash. The CC problem does pop a fuse, but it still has power to the problem wire. Go figure.
Find out what the cost is for the dealer to find out what is wrong with the to put on the computer, pin point the problem and fix. Or just change parts till you fix it. When you bleed it make sure the truck is running it works alot better.
