ABS light and over drive light

ABS light and over drive light
My ABS light stays on all the time and now the light on the over drive button blinks.. It isn't on but blinks until enough speed is reached to get into over drive. What causes these problems ?

Wow.
Thanks, I just got out from under mine and found it. Since I live in the middle of no where finding one may be a problem. But on mt next trip to the city I'll pick one up.

If replacing the VSS works for you, great, but replacing it isn't always the cure, I learned that. I had a blinking overdrive light, replaced the VSS in the rear diff, did nothing. Ultimatley, I had to have the trans replaced, cost is a bit more than $30. If replacing it works for you, terrific, but be prepared if it doesn't, there is a variety of things that can cause the overdrive light to blink. Before you waste the money on a new VSS, I suggest you get the code read, could save $$$$ in the long run. This is only my opinion, but I am also speaking from experience.
