i think it's edelbrock? that advertises non-roller chain for less stretch. i've run both roller and non-roller, the non-roller may actually stretch less. some are refered to as "double row" chain.
friction where? the "rollers" or "pins" don't move anywhere while engaging the sprockets. to me the rollers are built in slop.
let it be known that i'm no particular edelblah fan. from their site,
Edelbrock Performer-Link by Cloyes
TRUE-ROLLER TIMING CHAIN SETS Performer-Link timing chain sets are for use with Edelbrock or stock cams. They have a solid-bushing chain for a true bearing surface that rolls with the sprockets, eliminating chain stretch.

Roger, went to the garage today just to make sure I wasn't crazy. The chain that came with the xe262 kit was indeed the part #2121 that danlee eluded to. It is a double roller chain. What # is it you're looking for, to compare to what? I am seriously considering going with the CHI 2v heads. The more I look into it, the better they look.
Don't know if i could find it- I was looking over a site and saw it and it raised the ? about double roller vs double non roller. I'll be buying a double roller. Can't pass up the opp to learn something ya know? Now I'm on to trying to understand DCR in relation to propane.
Roger,
I use a DCR of 8.5:1 as the absolute max for pump fuel (93 Octane). Propane has an Octane rating that is much higher than 93. I have no experience or information that tells me what the max DCR is with Propane.
Maybe you should post something on the alternative fuels forum.
