wheels & rims that fits the aerostar

What wheels from other fors vehicles (and other makes) fit the aerostar? I have steel rims and would like to trace in from some alloy wheels

Ranger, Explorer, F-150, Mustang, Towncar, Bronco II, Bronco so there are plenty of choices out there.

Oh, I have also seen Grand Cherokee and Mitsubishi rims on Aeros.

The Aerostar bolt pattern 4 1/2 - 5 (wheel stud is 1/2") fits many Chrysler Products', going back to the 1960s even. I posted once about trying a 15X7" Mopar Rallye wheel (used on many Mopar Muscle Cars of the 70s, Chargers, Challengers, Road Runners, Super Bees, etc.) on my '87 Aerostar XLT, and the Mopar Rallyes went on, and bolted up like a regular Aerostar wheel. As stated, by Nighthawk, Jeep wheels will also fit. So needless to say, there is all kinds of wheels that will fit an Aerostar. Just don't ruin the looks of an Aerostar, with hideous 19", 20" rims, with teeny tiny sidewalls. Those ruin the looks of an Aerostar, while giving the van a brick hard ride. Many late 90s-present Ranger alloy wheels will work well on an Aerostar, in 14" & 15" sizes. ED PS How about a set of chrome 15X6" Magnum 500 wheels on a Aerostar? Common on late 60s, early 70s era muscle Mustangs, Shelbys, and Ford Torinos?

too cool - i wish I could afford a set of musclecar wheels for my van. I just recently bought this new 96 van - i got it for a good deal as it was previously owned by a funeral home and the dealership that took the trade thought the smell wouldn't come out. (they didn't try) There's a little slip in the tranny and when I bought it I was told it was a 3.0 (I didn't pay too close attention to the engine style when I inspected under the hood before I bought it) and later discovered it is a 4.0 (never had a 4.0 before, I hope it is as reliable as the 3.0) - it has steel wheels and hubcaps (which drive me nuts as they are a pain in the rear to deal with) i want some nice alloy wheels preferably with no center cap (something I can get from a salvage yard cheap would be a plus). I was also thinking of trying for 15's instead of 14's, but using the same tire size. I agree on no large wheels with tiny sidewalls - I can't stand that look. Seems like a step backward in tire technology.

...you're going to love the 4L...driven in a moderate style gets good fuel mileage...has all the freeway onramp acceleration one needs and then some...love smokin these 4L Jeeps on the onramps or pulling out from a 4 lane light along side a rice burner 4 banger Bonzi dude with a 12 inch exhaust tip....he roars off...i push the gas down on the 4l...he looks over...this big pile of green ugly is suddenly along side him...he floors it...sounds like chainsaw on Viagra...i floor it...he looks over and the green toad is still there....total fright...he reaches over and hits the laughing gas switch and 6 ft flames pour out the exhaust tip and he disappears in afterburner flames....toad hops another 1/2 mile and there is the rice burner smokin on the shoulder....puked it's guts out....drank too much sake.....

there are occassionally stinking stiffs in the back of my Aero...usually tired sweaty sleeping hikers....

if, during the night on a long drive all alone with no company on a lonely dark 2 lane road, a hand reaches up and runs its fingers thru your hair do NOT turn around and look for a cute blonde....

Aerodude....nice looking wheels and van color...what brand of wheels...15"?

lol! wait till you guys see the aero with a set of 5zigen heidfeld mesh 18" rims. in a few more weeks, i will be removing them from my other car - prepping her for winter months. i'll put those wheels against the aero and take a pic. the aero actually looks damn nice with 18's!

not sure if she will rub. never had it installed on her plus the wheels are for my other car. the tires are 225/40r18. but i think with the right offset, it should work.

imagine doing up a show aerostar on air bags, booming a/v system. show stopper paint job (large carvas to create)... and finally finishing it off with a nice set of 18's... i do not think 20's would work, the tires would need to be elastic band thin to keep the gearing correct (speedo and odo). less one wants to go into changing those out. i would die to see that happen! heh! aerostar slammed to the ground when parked.
