i was trying to performance tune. the diagnostics worked fine. are those made to work on only one truck after the first time or is there some way to reset them
You can use the diagnostic part of the tuner on any OBDII vehicle at any time. It always works.
The performance part of the tune is VIN locked. In other words, once the program is installed on a vehicle it can only be used to tune that vehicle. If you reinstall the original (stock) programming, the tuner can then be used on another vehicle.
Seeing how as this is a computer thread figured I'd ask this question here. How common is the PCM code, NVK3 OR? This is what's in my 99.5, so I want to know how long it was used.

ya i just bought it off of ebay and it was used. so do i need to bring it in somewhere to get the original programming or what do i need to do
Basically, you got ripped off. If the original owner still has the truck you could get him to reload it.....otherwise you'll have to send it in to Superchips. They can fix it, but the charges will just about amount to a new one.
