97 F150, Intermittent won't start
1997 F150 4.6 liter. Been a great truck but recently the vehicle will not start on ocassion, then give it 10 minutes or the next day it fires rite up. I drove it for 1000 miles had no problem then it started doing it again this week. Started 3 times yesterday then last night would not start. Waited 2 hrs. started rite up. It will turn over but will not fire. While driving down the road on a few occasions it will stumble and the check engine light comes on and after 5 seconds or so it will catch up and run fine and light goes out. It does not store a code in the computer. Replaced the fuel pump relay and have tested the fuel pressure on several occasions, the mechanic is sure it is not the fuel pump. Could it be the ignition control module? I'am very frustrated with this problem and need some HELP! Anybody out there have a similiar problem and could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated! Thank You

Hi and welcome to the forum
After the Check Engine light has been on there should be a trouble code stored in the PCM's memory. I'm wondering if maybe the scan tool that was used on your truck isn't capable of reading memory codes? Finding out what code turned the light on is where you need to start.
If you hold the throttle open a bit will it start?
These trucks don't have a seperate ignition module. It's built into the PCM (Powertrain Control Module or computer).
