Hello fellow ford enthusiests, I have a question about my 1997 F150. I recently picked up this truck and the previous owner said the check engine light has been on for a while and was'nt sure why. I borrowed a code reader from a friend and the code came up #1537-intake manifold runner stuck open...Has anyone else seen or heard of this problem and if there is an easy fix or a job for an experienced mechanic. Thanks
All I can tell you is it is bank 1, and thats from a search I did for your code. Here's where I found that: http://tazcobra.com/obd2_dtc.pdf
It's a list of codes from Ford's Diagonostics Department.
My suggestion would be to get a can of injector cleaner from somebody. My brother-in-law works for Wynn's. I get all kinds of stuff for free from him. It's stuff they use in shops. I would get a can of Fuel Injector Cleaner and a 2 cans of Power Boost. That should clean it right up. I would imagine you have some crap in your fuel rail that needs cleaned out. But I am no mchanic so, I may be giving you bad advice.
