Whats your truck getting?

-IN TOWN
-HIGHWAY
-AVERAGE (If you drive a mix of both all the time)
-TOWING (And what you tow)

Just wanna see numbers, straight up.

please try a search this has been beaten to death. almost hourly. i know there is at least 3 threads on the first few pages alone.

I get 11 on the highway
I get 9.4 Average
I get 8.6 towing 32' 5th wheel

I get 12 to 12.5 HWY
10 city
9-10 pulling a 10 ft trailer with a 900 ATV on it.

Avg about 11

Highway - 15-16

I nicked 17 highway twice (really trying!)

I've only towed a couple thousand pounds with it. Didn't even know it was there and no effect on mileage (local).

First time I've ever posted this.

Why??

Doing research to buy one with a V10?

Here is the truth all V10s average 11-13mpg mixed and 12-15 highway empty

Loaded fuel efficiency depends too much on load, road and BSEG effect.

There is five years of this question asked at least once a week here and up in the SuperDuty and PSD forums.

There are a small amount of trucks that get 8-11 average and a few that claim 15-17 average.

Trust me the three V10 versions all get about 12.5MPG lifetime average. Slightly less if the BSEG effect includes a slight drool.

I'm with Fredvon4 on this one. My rig has approx 3K miles. I know that it is still breaking in, but his numbers are about right. The V10 is a great engine.

Fred , Nobody can say it any better than you do and I am still amazed by the way people think a V10 must be a 700 cubic inch engine.

This is only a 415 CI engine and I think Ford would sell more of them if they gave it a new name. Call it the V8+2. Then we could have a new formula. V8+2=BSEG

I did notice that after i towed a trailer this weekend the truck has allot more get up and go, but is gettin about 1 mpg less. I thought it was hard to keep my foot out of it before but now it is even harder as it is shifting better and is that much more fun to drive. I had seen post where after you tow the computer will set the shift point a little bit more aggresivly and now I believe it. If I ever had a scheduled drag race I would hook up a trailer for a hundred miles or so before the race

Normally I get 10-11 around town 13-14 highway (I have never done a full tank highway so I think it would be around +/- 15)

I believe that Fredvon 4 coined that phase. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. He'll be glad to enlighten those who are not familiar with military type acromyns.

I'm suspecting that you are on the right track though. Often times these days you will hear animal droppings referered to as "scat" rather than the more familiar and vulgar four letter synonym.

So, for those easily offended, S is for scat. Just doesn't have the same ring to it though.

Well Im happy to report
I did my 1st unloaded road trip(highway)
about a month ago and and got low 12mpg the whole way @70 mph
