[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-Aug-02 AT 06:00 PM (EST)]I have a 460 bored .030 over and some added goodies anyways my question is what thermostat (kind and temp.) do you recommend? it's a 1978 block in a f-250 4x4 auto. I also have the 6 bladed flex fan direct drive 4 core rad. and full shroud engine has 10,000 miles on it. 4trax@charter.net
I have a Robert Shaw 195' in there now I'll goo ahead and put 180 in. Someone was telling me that these come stock with 180's in them so I was just checking the site out and you guys out and I really like it thank-for the response everybody that did.I start checking the site more often to see if I can pay back info. Have a great one
You get them at "real" parts stores. Call around, they are available. Robertshaw is the best thermostat. 180 is a great thermostat for most of our old iron. DO NOT put in a 160, it increases engine wear rates dramatically (would you believe 4X). Always keep a thermostat on your engine, don't leave home without one!
