No disrespect intended, but.... Go to an exhaust shop and you'll pay less than 1/2 that. When I saw $79 for a "muffler delete kit" I almost choked. Actually, it was worse. Have you ever seen the movie "Better off dead?" Remember when Blane's friend Charles DeMar (the guy that snorts the snow at the top of the mountain) can't stop laughing at the prep, that was me.
Good luck with the deletes however you do them.

No offense taken, but 99.99% of the muffler shops don't have or can't bend 3.5 inch diameter tubing. 3.0 inch diameter is pretty much the max. the $79 muffler delete is the full 3.5 inch diameter.

I just put her on last night and it fits great.

It took about an hour, but I am slow. Go to iptdiesel.com and they have instructions. She sounds stock until the tach get past 2000 rpm and then she has some bark to her. Hopefully I will find time this weekend to install the kitty delete pipe (for off road purposes only).

You would definitely need a custom exhaust shop for that size. Midas / Meinike wouldn't have anything like it. We have a bunch of good quality custom shops out here now.

I have a 2004 f-250 did all the exhaust mods, first I took the muffler off could not tell any differnce what so ever took the cat off run a delete pipe a little more change mostly sound on start up, I was helping a friend move back from florida when at a red light in Fort Myers there was black and silver f-250 pulled up beside me, sounded like a jet ,people was looking at it when he pulled out it had a growl like I had never heard from a any diesel and the turbo whistle was awsome I had to talk to this guy he pulled in to get some fuel I pulled in behind him and ask him what he had done to get his truck to sound like that and the only thing he done was put a HOG exhaust and air raid filter on it so I done the same to mine, and the truck sounds awsome, neighbors ask me what I done to it, dogs dont chase it any more the whistle kills their ears ,when I stop at a red light people stare at it like what has he done to that truck, guys that have modified trucks around here dont want to even want to mess with it they think that its got a bigger turbo, injectors, and propane and one guy even told a friend of mine to get that truck to sound like that I had to be running nitrous oxide thru my intercooler but allI done was put the HOG exhaust on the truck and cat delete pipe and the airraid filter I dont even have a tuner or nothing thinking about getting the edge juice platnium the hog exhaust was the best 600.00 I ever spent, just my 2cents worth

That is awesome! Goes to show that a satisfied customer testimonial is much more effective than any marketing hype- After hearing this from Foxdoc, I am going to look into a new exhaust

So far I've only done the Mod chip. It makes a major power and speed difference. I really noticed it when I took it in for service and they updated the firmware and my superchips would not mod it any more. The truck is slow and sluggish now. I should have my updated superchips this week. I'll work on the exhaust next. Anyone else do any mods lately that made a diff?

Thumbs up

ALWAYS go back to the stock tune before going back to the dealer. Read more on this in the Tech Folder.

As far as mods that made a difference, I have 5" bull-horn stacks peeking over the roof of my crew cab. They gave me a net increase of 2mpg. Talk about looks! I get the from people all day long!

I did go back to stock before the service. The recall changed an emissions sensor and the firmware.

Foxdoc -- what is the build date on your 250? I understand that early 2004's still had the louder turbos like the 2003's. I'm looking to do the same mine built in 05/2004.

BTW - I'm in Fort Myers, too.

Hey Foxdoc does the HOG exhaust system have a 4" down pipe setup as opposed to the 3.5" system that most other companies offer?

Thanks

Well - I don't think it takes a custom shop -
just not one of the national chains that only have parts changers for cars

Know how many trucks there are out there with larger than 2.5 or 3 inch pipes?

and if you're doing a muffler delete, there's really no "bending" involved...
In my lttle town there's at least three no habla engless shops that will do it for about $35...

Personally I won't go without a muffler -
too loud in an echo chamber like the Ex IMHO

but another option if you don't feel you want a replacement exhaust system is a Walker BTM - about $60, lifetime warranty - 200 + degree drop in EGT's and just a bit louder than stock to let the turbo whine
