Exclamation 1965 Ford Ranger??????

I just bought a 1965 ford ranger, does anybody know if it is a true ranger...i was under the impression that the ranger model was started in 1967. The truck is complete, but was told its missing the console? I have the full vin and wondered if there was a book that decodes this vin or explains the model of this truck. THANKS FOR ANY HELP....

I'm just guessing here, but I think you need to post this in a full size truck forum. This "Ranger" forum is under the heading "Small Chassis Trucks."

Not picking at you. I just want you to have your question answered. :-)

It is just a trim level or option package, not really a model. But I haven't seen any earlier than 67 before.

Welcome to FTE lowridercaddy!

You ought to try the '61-'65 Forum for some more feedback on your question. Good luck with the "new" Ford.

There was a Ranger trim package for Ford trucks prior to 1967 but I believe it was introduced in 1966. They did have bucket seats, tho.
