Hi, I'm surprised to see that a G is the sixth character; the information I have says that:
F10 = F100 2WD
D = 352 V8
L = Michigan Truck Assembly Plant
G39620 = Consecutive Unit Number

Is your truck a 2WD with a 352 possibly assembled in Michigan? Or does that G throw my whole decoding off?

09 There is nothing in those numbers to tell you that it is a Ranger. 65 was the first year it was offered and is a trim package with mostly interior differences.

Post the second row info, as it will list trans code, body code, etc.... The body code will tell you the interior trim level.

Some times the DSO will have additional numbers in it sometimes not.

Most times the trim is designated by a letter in front of the model

I still have yet to find a trim code for a ranger. and i have seen personally a 63 uni with factory ranger trim...

the vin number is F10DL639620, I mistook the firts 6 for a G. The rest of the numbers DSO 260126, max GVW 5000, cert net HP 172, RPM 4000. Im curious to find out how many 65 pickups were the Ranger package?

ANy help would be appreciated
