I've recently removed my 600 from my 82 F100. I had no idea where to safely hook my chain around so I attached one side to the AC bracket and the other side to the rear of the intake manifold. I lifted the engine and tranny together. I don't want to hook to the manifold when putting it back in. I don't want to create leaks. I originally planned on hooking onto a withdrawn head bolt but it doesn't withdraw enough without being on minimum threads. I'm sure many of you have already done this and ideas would be helpful.
Thanks,
Marshell
When I pulled out my 300, I bought some bolts with the same thread as the manifold bolts, and basically bolted chain to about 4 bolt holes where the manifolds go. On the other side I wrapped chain around the compressor bracket. Worked marvelous.
