What do you drive so many Polar? Btw whats up with GM making a Saturn Vue version for each company? First the Equinox, that Buick cant think of name, and soon to be the Pontiac Torrent and Suzuki Vitera lol! They all look to me to be based or influrenced by the Saturn Vue, Im I just crazy or is this a pattern Gm is creating?
Demos (more accurately, company cars)- we have Chebbie and Ford, and they're parked at 5000 miles. The Equinox and the Freestyle got sold before they miled out.
No, you're not dreaming- the Equinox is based on the VUE chassis, but with a different body and drivetrain. Quite an improvement, actually. The Pontiac Torrent will be a near-clone, although I don't think Buick will get a version...at least not yet. The Suzuki is a completely different chassis and drivetrain.
The Vue has a Honda engine but the Equinox has a Chinese sourced engine. Since the Chinese generally copy other manufacturers' products, what engine did they copy and how is it working out?
It's just a Chevy 3400 V6 produced in China (in a GM plant) with an Aisan-Warner 5-speed automatic. There's only one model of Vue that uses a Honda engine- the Redline. It's been mentioned internally that since the Equinox has a superior chassis setup, it should have been the one with the Honda motor. My own opinion is it doesn't need it- goes like a bat out of you-know-where, with handling to go along with it. Can you tell the Eq is one of my favorite Chevy products?

I thought they were all awfully similar! My parents bought a 2002 Saturn Vue awhile back, its had a couple electronic problems, but by far the worst part about it has been the way it rides, its very noisy and if you go over any bumps it rattles a lot , lol god forbid if you ever had to go off road ( like on grass ) with one! One more question if the V6 sounds kinda like a diesel does that mean it may have Piston slap?
Has a dealer looked at it? Could be any number of things. The Equinox does not share the Vue's plastic body (never ending rattles), drivetrain, or wheelbase (Eq's is larger).
