My son is going over in the morning with a crew to assist cingular into getting wireless back up. I don't have a problem with the oil giants just so I don't have to hear them having record profits again this quarter. Yall are right the greed got them and now they are caught with there pants down.
Yeah. What I hate is when the Oil Companies gripe that the price of crude is eliminating their profits so they have to raise the price of gas. Then the following quarter they are recording massive profits. Then they have the gall to stand up and tell us that their recent massive profits have nothing to do with the current rise in gas prices but rather with some event that happened in 1910, or whenever. Like we are all so stupid as to fall for that arcane flapdoodle. And they do it with a straight face!
Nope... it was probly a C4 because it wasnt a bunch... We only got part of the load... But were gonna get 3 more shipments i nthe next week. I didnt get to see the plane cause they put the stuff in a hanger, the plane did a touch,refuel/dropoff, and go went to atlanta to pick up more stuff i think. they also diverted a C21 learjet to texas cause we thought we were getting the whole C4, turns out we didnt
I think the 225 is retired. If I remember correctly only a few were built and a couple had crashed.
The AN-124 is just a little larger then the C-5. It is chartered every year by the US to run christmas presents to the under priveliged children in foreign countries.
Not retired nor crashed, the Russian army just couldn´t afford to keep the An-225 operative anymore, so they left it grounded (pretty much rotting without any manteinance at all, if i recall what i readed well, even its engines were stripped out), but later on, some European group bought it and overhauled it to use it as a (oh my... what could it be?... LOL!!! ) prime mover, i think they even started some bussiness called "Antonov Airways/airlines" or something of the like, using some An-124s and the An-225.
On Edit: Yes, what i stated before it´s all true, thins link should help, even as it doesn´t despict the later fate of the An-225, but i checked and the "Antonov Airlines" company popped out so that proves my info

Just out of curiosity, I did a search for a C-4 cargo plane.

They may do it with a strait face, but I betcha they have their fingers crossed behind their backs.
ive heard some caseys stores in the midwest have ran out of gas...has anyone else heard this??
My wife works at a Casey's store and on monday they did infact run out of gas not because there is a shortage but rather because the news media stated that gas was going to take a huge jump after midnight so everyone had to run down, and fuel up which when they better than tripled the average amount of fuel bieng sold the automatic computor system couldn't get the orders out fast enough for the trucks to get to the stations with more gas before they ran the tanks dry. I talked to the driver of that tanker and he stated they were running just as hard as they could, adn actually running out of hours to drive before they could get all the deliveries made that they had too. Hmmm, and people wonder why gas prices are so high they raise them and people buy even more, if I had a product that I could sell more, and more of by raising the prices I would be raising them every chance i got.
It probably would not be good for the pumps to run dry, but I would imagine there is some sort of low level switch that shuts them down before they run completely dry. Then again I am just guessing!
I filled up the night before it hit, so i only got raped as usual at the pumps, not as brutally and without lube as the people who waited until today.
i feel sorry for the people who choose to live in...[snip] people who choose to live in florida where every dang year they get hit with hurricanes. then what happens? they rebuild and whine the next time it happens.
I live in Florida, my town is 220 feet above sea level. We're so close to Alabama we can see it on a clear day. Everyone has to live somewhere. You live in the Northwest. You do know that you stand a good chance of being killed in a eruption of one of those dormant volcanos you call "mountains" out there, don't you? There's no such place as a safe place to live. Move to the Midwest, tornado alley. The Northeast and the northern states, blizzards. The South and the Gulf States, hurricanes. The West Coast, earthquakes and wildfires. We all make our choices.
Thats not an angry rant, its a frustrated rant.....but things are kinda sensitive around here.
Maybe if we send a million refugees up north....a little humility might be gained.
There was a quote in the newspaper yesterday. Detroit was being generous by offering to take in, get this "FIVE HUNDRED DISPLACED PERSONS". My little town of 19,000 has that many people from the affected areas in shelter now, with more on the way. Pompous a$$es!
