Looking for some help we have a pair of E-450 cutaways with Ambulance bodies on them. They are the E-450 with the 6.0 2005 model year. It was my understanding that these chassis had the E40D transmission not the torque shift and that’s why the engines were derated. Can some one clarify this for me?
They use the same trans. The derating comes from lack of an intercooler, and more resrictive exhaust manifolds to clear the engine bay in the van chassis.
